Facing a period of poverty between the 17th and early 20th century, many parents in the Vinschgau Valley were forced to send their children on a difficult and exhausting march to Upper Swabia to find work and a place to stay.

The exhibition follows the trail of the “Swabian Children” and tells their story: from the simple life in the Vinschgau Valley to the tough everyday life in foreign lands.
